Come cheer on our little Wildcats all dressed up for Halloween as they walk around the Early Elementary playground! Park in the front of the school and walk around to the Playground/Bus Loop to check out the parade.
Per school policy regarding costumes on this day:
Students are invited to wear costumes to school.
All aspects of the costume must be "School Cool." School is defined as no weapons, no blood, no masks during the school day, no accessories. If it will scare another student please leave it at home.
Costume Need:
Please email Mrs. Martin with requests. Mrs. Martin will privately help the child "shop" for a costume at school prior to the parade, during October 19 - 23. Children can keep the costume for trick or treating if that is something that they participate in, but MEEPA is asking that the costumes be returned in the week after the holiday.

There are many ways to support our school community, whether you have a few minutes to help with a one-time task or would like to join an event planning team. Every contribution makes a difference, and all levels of involvement are welcome.

Walk-a-Thon: This is Mattawan Early Elementary’s primary fundraising event and we depend on the generosity of our parents, local businesses, friends and families. 100% of your Walk-a-Thon donations go directly toward enriching your student's education. These donations fund the cost of field trips, enrichment assemblies, gym/playground equipment, STEM/technology supplies, books, teacher appreciation and more! Follow Wildcat Walk-a-Thon on Facebook!
Hungry Howie's Pizza Nights: Order a pizza the 2nd Wednesday of the month from the Texas Township Hungry Howie's and 10% of the sales go back to the school. Be sure to mention which class your child is in (or teachers if you have multiple children). The class with the most participation will earn a pizza party each month!
Box Tops for Education: Earn for our school without scanning receipts! Download the app, select Mattawan Schools (you can skip the referral step) and connect your Walmart account to start earning anytime you purchase a Box Tops product. (Instructions)
All are welcome to our monthly meetings, including parents, grandparents, and other caregivers! We generally hold meetings the first Friday of the month at 9:00am. Check in at the Front Office to see which room the meeting will be held in.
There are no dues or fees to join MEEPA. Our parent association is run entirely by volunteers, and all parents and caregivers are welcome to participate in whatever way works for their schedule.
Our school relies on parent/caregiver participation. The question isn't whether to pitch in — it's how. There's an opportunity here for almost any schedule, from a 20-minute signup to a standing monthly role, helping provide food for an event, or donating financially. Check out our Sign Up Genius forms to see current opportunities!

Car line can be confusing, especially at the beginning of the school year! Here’s a parent-friendly overview to help families know what to expect. Please follow any directions provided by school staff, as procedures may be adjusted when needed.
How does morning car line drop-off work?
Car line drop-off begins at *8:30 a.m.* in front of the Elementary School.
Families use the drop-off loop and remain in their vehicles. School staff are ready to help students exit from the passenger side.
To help keep the line moving safely, it’s helpful to have your student unbuckled and ready to exit when you reach the unloading area. Families are asked to remain in their vehicles rather than getting out to unbuckle students or open doors.
How does afternoon car line pick-up work?
Vehicles line up in the designated pick-up lane in front of the school. Staff members walk from car to car to collect student names so children can be lined up and ready as vehicles pull forward.
Having your student pick-up tag clearly displayed helps staff keep the process moving.
Where should I wait if the pick-up lane is full?
Once the pick-up lane on the school side of Western Avenue is full, the line continues along the right side of Western, near the new maintenance building and High School parking lot.
To help prevent congestion, families should avoid forming a second line, waiting on Western, blocking driveways, or making a U-turn through the grass.
What is the best way to join the pick-up car line?
New this year: Families are encouraged to take McGillen Avenue to the Football Stadium parking lot entrance. From there, use the new roadway connecting the stadium area to the road behind the High School and join the car line.
Vehicles will not be able to cut through the High School parking lot.
How can I help the car line move faster?
A few things families can do to help:
Have your student ready to exit on the passenger side during morning drop-off.
Display your pick-up tag where staff can easily see it during afternoon pick-up.
Remain in your vehicle unless a staff member directs you otherwise.
Follow staff directions and pull forward as space becomes available.
Use the route through the Stadium parking lot.
Pack a little patience—staff members are working to move every student safely and efficiently.
We hope this overview makes arrival and dismissal a little easier! When in doubt, please follow the directions of school staff.
